Matrixify (formerly Excelify) works completely differently. It's a Shopify app — you install it in your Shopify store, then import data using structured Excel or CSV files. Where it falls short: This is not a point-and-click tool. You need to understand Shopify's data model — how products, variants, and collections are structured — to transform your export correctly. If you're not comfortable with Excel or CSV manipulation, expect to spend significant time learning the format before you can use it effectively.

Use Cart2Cart if you've priced it out and it's cheaper for your entity count after adding the add-ons you actually need. Output quality is comparable to LitExtension on standard stores.
Use Matrixify if you have a large or complex store, need to migrate metafields, want full control over what goes in, or are doing a phased migration where you'll re-import data multiple times. Also the right call if preserving original order IDs matters to your business.
One thing worth knowing: none of these tools handle Shopify theme setup, app configuration, or post-migration testing. The tool moves your data. Everything else — making the new store actually work — is still on you or your development team.
